I’ve been getting some very strange sponsored ads on Instagram lately. I follow some parody pages and various artists , and it’s clear their algorithms don’t understand satire. Got this ad today, which I thought was a joke.
However, after checking the guy’s profile it is not a joke. Did a Google search on the name, and this guy is out of his fucking mind. Weird shit.

I was talking to my brother about his trip to our ancestral farm in Calabria last night, so maybe Instagram was just trying to connect me with a fellow paisan.

I love commenting insane BS on the sponsored posts. I had one weird one come up recently for some investment advice book on how you should buy a condo as an investment when your kid is born and sell it to pay for their college education when they’re 18. I posted that “ condos aren’t investments” and got a whole mob of angry commenters including the owner of the company. My take is that if they’re advertising to me, I’m free to say whatever I want back.

To be fair, I don't think anyone knows who this ad is targeted at.
